Fabrication of microfluidics
Cyclo-olefin polymers (COPs) have excellent optical properties, especially low background fluorescence intensity comparable to glass, and are expected to be applied to microfluidic devices for fluorescence detection systems.
COPs surface-modified with Aqua Plasma� can be bonded to each other at room temperature and have a bond strength of over 160 N/cm�. This technology has potential applications in the fabrication of microfluidic chip devices.
